CHRIST'S DESIRE

CHRIST'S DESIRE

3 John  1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Whenever man has a desire, all his intention would be aimed at fulfilling that desire. Whatever it would take, such a man would be willing to let go of in order to lay hold on the fulfilment of his desire. If he desires a new car, he either takes up a new job in order to increase his earnings or starve himself in some other way in order to increase his savings and hence achieve purchasing the choiced vehicle.

Now similar preparation/efforts are also made if this desire was towards someone else. If a father desires that the future of his children are secure, what he would do is to first put them through a befitting education which would set a base for the paths that his children would thread through life. He ensures this education is thorough by ensuring the payment of their fees at when due and equally giving close monitoring and intensive care.

Imagine if the father wants this child to become a medical doctor in the future, the interest of the child is then consciously directed towards first loving science based subjects, appreciation of the ethics of the profession and the ability to study extensively would have been induce in the child. Now it remains very important to say that there could be a child who all this is ensured upon but still doesn't end up being a medical doctor. A case which now leads to understanding that every human being becomes responsible for what truly happens in their lives.

Knowing Jesus's desire towards you as a Christian should inform your way of life, your orientation, your view on the look of things, how you handle situations as they come as challenges along your path throughout life. Below are just some of the expectations that the Lord JESUS has laid upon us as Christians. Many more are available but I'd leave that to you to find out through personal study.

1. Isa. 40:31...He expects you to put your confidence in Him, by waiting upon Him concluding your belief that all you could ever hope to enjoy through life exists in Him.

2. Psalm 119:105...He expects that you find time to dwell in His word, the Bible, making it your guide through life even as the lamp is to the feet of one who walks in darkness.

3. 2 Corinthians 5:17...He expects you to understand that He has completed the work of renewing you. Once you have believed in Him, you cease to be the old man who previously existed, things of the world now seem alien to you and a joy of His salvation package now fills you up.

4. Isaiah 41:10...He expects you to know and fully understand that He is always with you, never shook you ever allow fear nor anxiety to be about you or named in your quarters knowing fully well that His righteous right hand is always able to save.

5. 1 Corinthians 10:13...He also expects that you know that no matter what temptations could come your way as a child of GOD, He knows well that you are able to overcome because more importantly He would always provide for you a way of escape from whatever challenges you face.

6. John 16:33...Child of GOD please know that in this world, no matter what the challenges may be and no matter how great or small they may portray themselves, know always that He has overcome on your behalf.

7. Jeremiah 29:11...Jesus desires that you know that He always has the best plans in store for you, that even before you got to properly scheme out the best paths for yourself, He already made it perfect, ensuring that it all ends in praise.

8. Romans 12:1-2...He also desires of us Christians to always ensure that our bodies are presentable living sacrifices unto Him, not at anytime soiling ourselves with the fun that this world offers but to stick to the plan and honour GOD in our bodies.

9. Romans 6:11...He desires that you know that by your believing in Him, you have become dead, no longer interested in sin. All your life now knows is how Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit.

10. 1 Corinthians 11:1...Jesus desires that you would be able to take steps as He would take steps. Perhaps bring back the acronym "WWJD" which means "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO". A quick self examination on plans to be executed. If it were Jesus in this situation, what would be His thought, words or even actions

11. Ephesians 2:10...He desires that you know that you have been created for good works and you need to walk in them. Any bad or evil works shouldn't be said of you. Know and understand this.

12. Ephesians 4:22-24...Jesus says know that your old life shouldn't be found with you any longer but henceforth put on the new self which is characterized by Righteousness and Holiness.

13. Philippians 4:13...Jesus desires that you know that you can do all that you lay your hands upon to do knowing fully well that He alone strengthens you making it possible.

14. John 14:27...Jesus desires that you know that you can trust Him for the true correct peace that you would be needing in your journey through life. Men could promise a form of peace, but theirs would certainly just last a time frame and is consistently threatened but that which the Lord offers is eternal and cannot be tampered with.

15. Philippians 3:13-14...Just as Paul realized, our Lord Jesus expects you to keep panting after Him, longing always to receive His fullness, living as one in a race to lay hold on something of great eternal value which is the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

16. 3John. 1:2...Jesus desires that you would exist in the best health status possible - soul wise, physically in your body, financially, emotionally, academically etc.

17. Col. 3:2...Jesus desires that all your interests be channelled towards heavenly matters, because truth be told, where your traseure is is simply where your heart would be. If it's towards GOD, then your every move would seek to honour Him.

Now these and many much more Jesus desires that we walk in and benefit from and as the right to do was, He already made all necessary arrangements available for us to be able to attain them all. Now the onus lies upon you, would you stay ignorant of what He has done for you and His expectations in return or would you henceforth begin to walk in that which He expects?

I will advice that you spend more time understanding what He wants from you as a Christian. Knowing this would help you grasp more easily your place before Him and you also would gain more knowledge on how to walk in it. He always always desires the very best for us. He has made all things ready, would you accept the invitation to balance well, eat and be filled or do you simply ignore His call and keep on aimlessly. I'd choose the latter always, I'd hope that you do same soon.

GOD BLESS YOU.
