BELT - TRUTH

WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD
Let's consider Ephesians 6:10-18 these first few weeks
First stop: BELT - TRUTH

The dictionary illustrates/explain the truth as been able to conform to the actual state of reality or fact of a thing.

It has antonyms such as “Falsehood” or “Lie”.

So in actual fact any thing whether statement or action that do not conform totally to the actual state of reality of that statement or action is a Lie.

Imagine a sales man with a commodity of #1000, he successfully sells this to about one or two customers but in a bid to increase profit with the next customer, he then says "it goes for #2000" and as the norm is in my country a bargain ensued with the customer asking to pay #1500 for the product and the salesman simply replies "do you know how much I've been selling this product before you came in?"

Now the sales man doesn't need to say anything else for the customer to feel he's been favored if he eventually makes it away with any price less than #2000, meanwhile the cost was really #1000. Now this sales man could really argue that he never told any specific lie in his transactions, but the act of portraying falsehood making the customer believe he is been favored is equally a lie.

The truth is always a vital part of any human existence as it leads to trust, confidence and peaceful coexistence.

Famous baseball player Babe Ruth was once quoted saying "If you say the truth, you don't have to remember what you said." This quote remains true because whenever you are confronted about the information on an issue and you have told the truth, the reply remains the same but if you had told a lie, you need to begin to crack your head in order to remember what it is that you said earlier so it doesn't contradict your new position on the matter.

The consequence of having the truth revealed after portrayal of a lie is in similarity with the function a belt performs in a soldier's dress up kit as the absence of the belt to hold up the trousers of the soldier man causes the trousers to drop revealing his undergarments causing shame/ disgrace.

This same effect also applies with not telling the truth about any matter because as soon as the truth is revealed, shame and disgrace swallows up the guilty.

2Cor. 13:8 emphasizes clearly that no matter what we try or how far we go, we can't do anything against the truth but rather for it to be upheld.

See how much being in line with the truth meant to GOD when HE promised David concerning his children that if they continued to walk in truth before Him that David's seed would always remain king over Isreal; such a blessing for not walking in falsehood but rather walking in truth.

In this our day and age, another thing of truth that we seriously need to uphold is the truth of the gospel (Gal. 2:5, 14) because it is in believing this truth that one is saved and by it we receive the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13).

What really is the truth of the gospel? Is it based on the doctrines of churches and missions?

What really is the truth of the gospel? Because the absence of this truth has caused a lot of Christians derailing as men are simply guided/ instructed by that which the church leader believes in and you could imagine how unlucky such congregation is if such leader were not following Christ (2Tim. 3:7-8), that would mean his entire church populace are just rendering worship to an unknown God - "dead works service".

Paul in 1Tim. 2:7 is identified as a preacher and an apostle of truth. It is by the truth of the gospel that we are enabled to grow in love (Eph. 4:15).

Many ministers have become scared of witnessing the truth of the gospel simply because they prefer avoiding becoming enemies of men from whom they hope to receive some benefits (Gal. 4:16). No matter how men try to polish the truth of the gospel to suit their selfish gains, they need be reminded that grace only comes through JESUS CHRIST. (John 1:17)

The truth of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST is how that He was crucified (Gal. 6:14, Rom. 6:6, Gal. 5:24) for You, He died (ROM. 5:6-8; 6:10, 1Thess. 5:10, 1Cor. 15:3, 2Cor. 5:15) for Your sins, He was buried (Rom. 6:4, 1Cor. 15:4) for you, He resurrected (Rom. 1:4, 1Cor. 15: 12,13,21) to set you free and He finally ascended (John 20:7, Eph. 4:8-10) back into the heavens where He now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us (Acts 7:55, Rom. 8:34, Eph. 1:20, Heb. 1:3).

By believing that He did all this for your remission and confessing Him as Lord and Saviour, you would be saved (Rom.10:9).

Knowing full well that the life which you now live, you owe it to CHRIST and He alone should be in charge of it. (Gal. 2:20) and you live to praise His name and you let others know Him.
That's the truth of the gospel.
GOD BLESS YOU.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS
