THE GREAT FEAST
Matt. 22: 1 - 14
This here is another parable of JESUS to the people about the kingdom of Heaven.
He here related the kingdom of heaven to be as a wedding feast which a king prepared for his son.
As every wedding feast is usually planned, a roll call of expected guests was already drawn out for this particular event too. So the king sent out his servants to call forth those invited but unfortunately none of them responded positively.
They gave excuses, some of whom said that they had to attend to their farms, another had to attend to his merchandise and another very unreasonable sect decided that it was okay to go on killing the messengers of the king that came forth to deliver the king's invite.
Meanwhile the king had already prepared dinner having killed his oxen and fatlings in preparation for his esteemed guests and surely wouldn't want all that to go to waste.
So in an act of rage-response the king ordered his armies to destroy the murderers and burn up their cities.
Since preparations were already made towards the feast and there shouldn't be any waste and moreso those invited weren't worthy, the king ordered his servants to go into the streets and the highways and invite as many as were found to the feasts.
So being a free for all invite to an avalanche of the best delicacies, everyone came out to the feast both the good and bad until the feast hall was filled with guests whether worthy or unworthy.
In a strange twist of events, the king came forth into the feast hall and saw that it was filled to the brim with guests, then identified a man whom had not the wedding garments this king went to inquire of the man why that was so but this man was speechless, the reason which could be what plagues many of
we Christians today.
YES, we got into the love of Christ the way we are not understanding that there remains an expectation upon us not to remain the way we were but to put on the wedding garment which alone guarantees our access - even the very nature of Christ.
So the king ordered that he be bound hands and legs and thrown out of the feast into the outer darkness where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth by all those ejected from the feast in regret of their lack of preparation to attend the feast they were invited for.
As a statement of conclusion, even though many are called to the great feast, very few depending on the preparation of those called are chosen.
In our day and time many having received the sure gift of salvation and an assurance of the kingdom of heaven become careless in their walk with GOD such that they become so preoccupied with Activities of the Kingdom that they lose out on fellowship with the Father and His invite to koinonia.
Even though this invite is crystal clear and they are seemingly preoccupied, by GOD's mercies HE still sends out HIS servants (Prophets, Pastors etc.) as a reminder to that which they have lost out on, but these chosen invited guests decide to kill these servant-bearing instructions.
This they do nowadays by defamation of character through lying, gossiping etc. if this persists, the very same verdict would apply which is an utter destruction and burning down of cities. . . SELAH.
Another notable point of discussion from this passage is that of the man/ men from the streets who were last minute additions to the feast but which carelessness and a real lack of direction cost them their place in the grand feast of the king as they didnt have the right apparels/ garments for the wedding feast.
This speaks to us all friends that in an attempt to draw men into GOD just as they are, we need to ensure that these men do not remain the way they were along the line.
Understand with me that if this man had rearranged himself after been invited and perhaps after one or two meals from the banquet, by the time the king would come out, he won’t be thrown out but he rather was comfortable with being the way he came.
In conclusion friends, even though many (the whole of mankind) is called to enjoy this great feast of the Lord and though many have excused themselves due to Functions and others miss out due to lack of transformation, let us ensure that as we journey through to heaven that our WALK shouldn't be replaced by our WORK.
Fellowship, koinonia, Relationship, Revelations, Life, Grace are needed continually even if we would celebrate eventually with the Father n this great feast.
GOD BLESS YOU
